Job Purpose
To oversee and manage electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs within the factory, ensuring safety, compliance with regulations, and efficient operation of electrical systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead electrical team in electrical and instrumentation activities
- Supervise on-site electrical operations and resolve major issues in consultation with the Head of Department
- Inspect and interpret electrical blueprints, codes and remodeling projects
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of electrical equipment
- Provide guidance in installing electrical equipment such as panel boards, enclosures, or any other electrical systems
- Recognize system deficiencies and implement effective solutions
- Monitor and handle electrical spare parts inventory, prepare material estimates for projects and interventions, etc.
- Carry out PMs and periodic shutdown maintenance on all processing machines
- Supervise, train and evaluate the performance of the electrical team
Qualification
- BSc. / HND Electrical Engineering or a related field/ Professional Qualification Part III
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience with 2 years as an Electrical Lead / Supervisor
- Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance
Essential Skills/ Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLC systems, instrumentation, and control panels.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills.
